What is a Character Undelete?
Have you accidentally deleted a character in the past? Made a poor late-night decision? With a Character Undelete, we will return the character from its deleted state and place it back onto your account!
How much does a Character Undelete cost?
There is no cost! Simply submit your ticket in-game and a GM will assist you. Undeletes are not immediate, and may take some time for us to process, but at no point will you be charged money or DDO Points.
What are the restrictions on submitting a Character Undelete?
- You must have access to In-Game Support. VIP members have full access to In-Game support, and Premium members retain full access for 30 days following the purchase of DDO Points. Once you have put in a ticket, we will assist with the completion of your request regardless of your account status when the service is performed. Free members are not eligible for these services.
- Only 1 character may be undeleted per ticket. If you submit a ticket with multiple characters, we will close out the ticket and you will need to submit a completely new one.
- You can only have 1 Premium Service ticket open at a time. If you have more than 1, we will close the second one and you will need to open a new one.
- Characters are Undeleted "as is", and no modification of the character can be made by the GM or other support.
How do I request a Character Undelete?
Log into the server that the character you would like to have Undeleted is on. Open up the main menu by hitting ‘Esc’ and go to Help. At the bottom, click on ‘New Ticket’. Choose the category ‘Premium Service’ and the sub-category ‘Character Undelete’.
Make sure to include the following details with regards to your character:
- Character’s Name
- Character’s server
- Class
- Race
- Level
- Approximate delete date (if you don't know one, enter your best guess)
Failure to provide this information may lead to delays with your Premium Service request.
What should I expect from the Character Undelete Process?
You won’t receive any confirmation your ticket is submitted, but it will be viewable for you until you’ve closed it. Once we’ve performed or updated the service, you will see an icon on your UI with the details, and if completed, you will see the change.
How long will it take to process this service?
All Premium Service requests are processed in the order they are received. Turnaround can vary greatly depending on the amount of tickets that have been submitted.
Will all characters on my account be undeleted or just one?
You may undelete any character. However, you will need to submit a separate request for each character and can only have 1 Premium Service ticket open at a time. Please note any abuse of this system will result in your account being ineligible for future restoration.
Which server will my character be on when it is undeleted?
Your character will be on the server that it was on prior to being deleted. You may process a World Character Transfer after the character is restored if you would like to move servers.
Are all my belongings returned with my character?
Your character will be returned to the state that it was in at the time of deletion. All of the inventory and equipped items that were on your character at the time of deletion will be returned with your character. The Character Undelete WILL return your character with all of its experience, rank and quest progression intact.
What will NOT be returned with a Character Undelete?
Things that will NOT be returned include:
- Guild information and status
- Money and Items not yet detached in mail
- Outstanding auction items and bids
- Items or equipment in the Reincarnation Cache
Things that MAY be transferred over include:
- Friends List
- Ignore Lists
What if all of my character slots are taken and I want to undelete a character?
Once the deleted character has been undeleted, you'll be presented with an option to select which characters to use at the character selection screen.
What if someone else already has my character’s name on the destination server once it’s been undeleted?
If the name of your undeleted character is already in use on the server, you will automatically be assigned a free rename credit.
The rename credit will allow you to rename your character by logging onto the undeleted character and typing /changename newname (replacing "newname" with the name you would like your character to have) into the chat window command line. You will only have access to use the /changename command until a valid new name is obtained successfully.
Please use the /changename command wisely, as this credit has a one-time use. If you make a typo, or choose a name you are not satisfied with, SSG will be unable to credit a refund.
NOTE: If your character has been assigned a rename credit, the credit must be used within 30 days of the character being Undeleted.
NOTE: Prior to renaming your character, please review the following rename policy:

Does it matter how long it’s been since the character was deleted? For example, if I deleted a character a year ago, can it be undeleted now?
Most characters can be undeleted, regardless of when they were deleted. Character Undeletes are not guaranteed.
I’m not sure what my character’s name was, but I’d like to have it undeleted. Can I get a list of names of characters that have been deleted from my account?
If you aren’t sure what your character’s name was, we may still be able to assist. Please submit an undelete request on the server the character was on and include “unknown” as the character name. In the description, please note that you’re not completely sure of the character name and request that a list of deleted characters on that server be sent to you.
Please note that we can only provide one list of deleted characters for one server for one subscription per ticket. This list will only include the name of the deleted character and the date of its deletion.
I remember the deleted character’s name, but I don’t remember which server the character was on. Can I still get help with undeleting my character?
If you aren’t sure where your character was located, we may still be able to assist (in limited cases).
Please submit an undelete request on the server you believe is most likely for the character to be on, and include the deleted character’s name and the servers you believe it might have been on. The Premium Services team will research your account and contact you with any applicable information they are able to find.
Please note that we can only provide one list of deleted characters for one server for one subscription per ticket. This list will only include the name of the deleted character and the date of its deletion.
My account was compromised and a character was deleted. Do I need to submit an undelete request to get my character back?
If your account has been compromised and one or more characters were deleted by a third party, please do NOT submit Undelete Inquiries. You can request assistance for these deleted characters in your tickets to our Fraud team regarding the compromise of your account.
