To link an item into chat so others can see its details:
Hold down Ctrl and right-click on the item icon in your inventory to create an item link in your chat window.
You can remap this command, "Item Link to Chat", in the 'Key Mapping' section of the Options Panel (accessed by holding down Ctrl and pressing O).
